Great soundtrack with many high school feels. There may have been too many costume changes, but listening to Teenage Dirtbag made everything okay.
Interactions between Lo and Hum were compelling, but the narration of the three women was impeccable. April Garreffa, Emma Caldwell and Esther Myles mixed humour and emotional rawness with a skill that brought the show to life. The comedy throughout helped make the destructive relationship easier to watch, while moments of brutal honesty maintained the gravity of the situation.
Clancy Moore was admirably repulsive as Hum, and portrayed his manipulations with dexterity. Anthony Kuiper did an impressive job as the reprehensible Ed, a disturbing shadow loitering throughout the show.
While the story’s conclusion was well performed and certainly satisfying in some ways, in others it felt too excessive after the emotional realness of the show.
Overall this was an original and impressively acted production that held nothing back.
